Accreditation Audit
To become ISO/IEC 17025:2017
accredited, your lab will be audited by an Accreditation Body. This will happen
after your lab have set up the systems to meet all the requirements of the
standard.
The Accreditation Body will send an assessor
or team to your facilities and evaluate the LQMS you have in place. They will
check, review and verify the processes meet the requirements of the standard
and see if your lab follow these processes.
If everything looks good, laboratory
will be recommended for accreditation and be awarded a certificate and be
recognized globally!
Below are the key elements to consider
before applying and getting ready for the audit:
You as a laboratory needs a scope of
accreditation (17025 scope) that shows your laboratory’s technical capabilities
and best measurement uncertainty associated for each parameter that you’re
accredit for.
ISO 17025 Templates: you also need to develop a calibration template that meets the
requirements of 17025 to show measurement traceability of your data to SI units
(International System of Units).
These 17025 templates include the
measurement uncertainty associated with each measurement being performed and
reported. Uncertainty values are the key part of 17025 accreditation process.
